Cork bark makes ideal natural hides in the vivarium. The bark is stripped from cork oak trees without any actual damage to the tree itself. This natural resource is taken without any disturbance to flora and fauna where it is collected and is a completely renewable natural resource.
There are many beneficial factors of using cork bark including;
- lightweight
- doesn't rot
- non-toxic
- soft
- buoyant
Cork bark tubes can be used for many animals such as geckos which like to hide away within them; some species will even lay there eggs inside them. Arboreal tarantulas generally will make any cork tube their new home overnight. Cork tubes in our experience help make these animals feel secure and they settle very quickly within their new vivarium.
